Chivas vs Manchester United – Hernandez scores a fond farewell

There was an unusual but somehow fitting move yesterday in the football match of Chivas vs Manchester United, when Javier Hernandez, the new Man Utd signing, played the first half for his old club Chivas Guadalajara and the second-half of the game for his new team. The match happened in Manchester United’s pre-season tour of North America.

Mexico’s Hernandez is an important new signing for Manchester who will be hoping for great things from him. It’s certainly an unusual thing for a player to score against his new team in his first match with them but that’s exactly what happened. Hernandez scored the first goal for Chivaz in the 8th minute, according to Chris Davie on Goal.com. It was a great strike that will make Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson very happy, even though it was scored against his team.

The goal was soon countered by Chris Smalling for United, another new signing who scored with a header in the next minute. The Mexican team Chivas was in good form though and the next goal was scored by Bautista in the 38th minute. When the second-half started Javier Hernandez came out for his new side but it was his old team who scored the next goal when Reynoso scored in the 59th minute with another header.

Man United’s Nani gained one back in the 80th and it was a good performance from both teams but Chivaz will be extremely happy with their determined 3-2 win against the Red Devils. For more on this go to goal.com. What do you think about Hernandez coming to Manchester United? If you’re a Chivaz fan are you sad to see him go? Or maybe you’re a United fan happy he’s coming to Manchester? Why not let us know by sending in your comments.
